Dr. Siddhartha Rajagopal,

Executive Director, TEXPROCIL

Dr. Siddhartha Rajagopal has vast experience of over three decades in matters relating to international trade in textile and clothing. He has recently completed his PhD in Management Studies, having acquired a Master's Degree in Political Science with specialization in international economic relations, he joined the TEXPROCIL in 1992 after serving the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC).

He has thus had the unique distinction of serving the entire gamut of the textile value chain from yarns to garments.

During the course of his career in the textile and clothing sector, Mr. Rajagopal has been a member of several Indian delegations/negotiating groups sent by the Government of India to USA, European Union, and the WTO to discuss various aspects of bilateral and multilateral trade in the textile and clothing sector under the MFA and ATC regimes.

He has also been actively defending the interests of Indian textile exporters against trade defense measures like Anti-Dumping and Anti Subsidy actions at the WTO.

Dr. Rajagopal has also been instrumental in conceiving export promotion schemes and market development strategies for the garment and textile sector and has organized India's participation in several textile exhibitions/fairs and trade delegations. He has had the opportunity to travel extensively the world over promoting the exports of cotton textiles.
